Week 14 Matchup vs Eagles

POSTED BY: RICHARD SHERMAN in BLOG

First of all, I hope that all of you 12’s had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed that big win on Thursday night! I couldn’t be happier with the progress this team has made throughout the season. We have finally begun to reach full-stride as we return key players back to health in time for the final stretch of the season. This division is packed with talent and has a reputation as being one of the best in the league. Each game represents the opportunity to edge our opponents in a very tight race as we close out the season and push toward our goal of Playoff football. Even though this is a tight race, we still maintain the mind-set of focusing on what we can control. If we take care of our business and get things done on our end, then we know the rest will take care of itself.

Russell and the offense have continued to impress. They have done an amazing job of sustaining drives and finding ways to get in the end zone. A lot of guys have stepped up and played great football for this team when their number has been called. These performances are a testament to the hard work and preparation we put in each week during practice. This group will head into Philadelphia to face a tough Eagles’ defense that is playing at a high level. Our offense will need to maintain ball security and keep pressure off of Russell so he can progress through his reads and make plays – something they have been doing a great job of these past few games.

Defensively, the pieces of the puzzle are starting to fall back in place as we get everyone back on the field from injuries. It is great to have Bobby, Kam and Byron back on the field and playing at a high level. Each one of these guys are a big part of this defense and our success on the field. We are looking forward to heading into Philadelphia and getting after Mark and his talented offense. These guys have been playing great football and do an amazing job of distributing the ball to their playmakers. We understand that sound, assignment football will need to be played on Sunday in order to limit their ability to execute. Disciplined football is something we have always taken pride in and plan on playing that way from the first snap.

This game is a big one, 12’s! We are very excited to get this one under-way! It has been a fun grind to get to the point we are at in the season and look to finish stronger than we started. I hope to see some of you guys in Philadelphia to help us get after this win!
