Last week was a great game for us to build on as a team. I think we played our most complete game of the season so far. I could not be more proud of how we have come together as a defense. I know it is early in the season, but we are pumped to be leading the NFL in total defense. The offense looked unstoppable and Russ got into a perfect rhythm until he hurt his knee in the second half. It was definitely a scary moment watching him lay there on the ground. I’m so glad he was able to walk off the field under his own power and hopefully we will have him back this week against the Jets.
This week’s game against the Jets poses a very unique challenge for us. The Jets have one of the most talented wide receiver tandems in the league with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. Those guys are big, fast and can catch everything. They are going to keep the Legion of Boom on our toes all game long. Matt Forte can do it all. He can run, catch, block and even split out wide. We are going to have to know where he is at, at all times. Ryan Fitzpatrick, is remarkably cerebral and accurate. We know that their game last week did not go the way they wanted. They are going to do everything in their power to prove that last week was a fluke. This week is going to be a battle.
