Playing For Each Other

I’m proud of the effort our defense showed in bouncing back against the Giants on Sunday. We did not play the sort of first half that we know we can. We gave up a bad series in the first half that was due to mistakes on our part. We approached the second half knowing that we could play better and that’s exactly what we did.

We came out after halftime and played our brand of football. Guys stayed the course and stopped jumping out of their gaps. Bobby played one heck of a game. Bradley McDougald came out and handled Giants tight end Evan Engram pretty well. Earl, Kam and KJ all played to their consistent level of excellence. The defensive line did a great job shutting down their run game all day long.

Our priority on defense was to give New York nothing deep. We didn’t want them to be able to get easy yards with the big play. We wanted to keep everything in front of us and make them work for everything they got. I’m proud of the effort our guys showed.

The last few games have showed that we are staying the course and playing to the level that we know we can. Preparation and confidence have put us in the place to play well and win. On this team, we always play for each other and that’s what is fueling this run right now. Can’t wait to keep this going. See you guys next week!
