Richard Sherman, Marshawn Lynch Attend Michael Robinson's Youth Football Camp

POSTED BY: RICHARD SHERMAN in NEWS

Current, former, and retired Seahawks were all present in Virginia this past weekend for Michael Robinson's annual youth football camp.

The former Seattle fullback turned NFL Network analyst was joined by cornerback Richard Sherman, retired Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, as well as former Seattle cornerback Byron Maxwell, now with the Miami Dolphins, and running back Robert Turbin, who's with the Indianapolis Colts. The event, in its sixth year, helped benefit Robinson's Excel to Excellence Foundation while providing coaching and training from NFL stars to young boys and girls.

"You do some great work out here with some great people, affect tons of lives, as you can see, by the amount of kids that show up year-in and year-out," Sherman relayed to Robinson on NFL Network. "This is my fourth or fifth year, something like that, and it’s been great every year. It’s growing every year. You can really appreciate the amount of talent that comes in and you see kids coming back year after year, coming back from college, and you really understand the impact that you’re making.”

Robinson, who spent four of his eight NFL seasons with the Seahawks, including the team's Super Bowl XLVIII championship run in 2013, said he feels a responsibility to serve his community and offer it something he didn't have growing up in Richmond.

“I want to be an example for all the kids out here, not only in Richmond, but any kid that I come in contact with," Robinson told Virginia's NBC12. "You have a duty to come back and give back to your community, because without your community, where would you be? So if they can get that principle out of this weekend, and I know my guys from the National Football League are spreading that principle throughout this camp, I’ll be happy with that.”
