For the first time since 2011, the Seattle Seahawks will open the regular season with back-to-back games on the road.
The NFL released the team's schedule on Tuesday afternoon, and the Seahawks will kick off their 2015 campaign at 10 a.m. PT on Sunday, Sept. 13 at the home of the NFC West rival St. Louis Rams.
The Seahawks will follow up their season-opening tilt with a nationally-televised Sunday night road game against the Green Bay Packers. The meeting marks a rematch of this past January's NFC Championship game between the two clubs that saw Seattle pull off an improbable come-from-behind victory to advance to Super Bowl XLIX.
Seattle will host its first opponent at CenturyLink Field on Sunday, Sept. 27 in an afternoon game against the Chicago Bears. The Seahawks will then entertain a nationally-televised Monday night meeting with the Detroit Lions, one of two wild-card teams in last year's NFC playoffs.
A franchise-record five games will be broadcast in primetime, two of which will be played before the 12s at CenturyLink Field. On top of the aforementioned Sunday night road game against the Packers in Week 2 and Monday night home game against the Lions in Week 4, the Seahawks' primetime matchups consist of a Thursday night road game against the division rival San Francisco 49ers in Week 7; a Sunday night home game against the division rival Arizona Cardinals in Week 10; and a Sunday night road game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14.
The Seahawks own a 13-1 record in primetime games under head coach Pete Carroll and has won nine Monday Night Football games in a row. The team's .724 winning percentage on Monday night is the best in the NFL.
The team's bye week comes in Week 9 this year after the Seahawks were dealt the NFL's earliest week off (Week 4) a season ago. Heading into the bye, Seattle faces three of four games on the road, but the club will enjoy an extended home-stand on the other end. Seattle hosts three straight games in the Emerald City from Nov. 15 - Nov. 29, the first time since 2011 the Seahawks will play three games in a row at home.
The Seahawks' full 2015 schedule including preseason dates, times, and television information, is laid out for you in the table below.
