Michael Robinson's annual Celebrity Waiter Night fundraiser will have even more star power this year.
The event, which will be held on Friday, May 19, will benefit Robinson's Excel to Excellence Foundation, which works in Richmond-area schools. Robinson was a Super Bowl-winning fullback for the Seattle Seahawks who is currently an analyst for NFL Network.
He's lined up an impressive array of famous friends to serve diners at this year's event.
Hall of fame receiver Michael Irvin headlines the group, which also includes recently unretired running back Marshawn Lynch. Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, like Lynch, will be making a repeat appearance at the event.
Former VCU hoops star Troy Daniels, who currently plays for the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, will also participate.
Also on the list are Bruce Irvin, Ike Taylor, Maurice Canady, Andre Branch, Dekoda Watson, Josh Johnson and legendary Indianapolis Colts receiver Reggie Wayne.
Tickets can be purchased through the Excel to Excellence website, and are $350 for the dinner, plus a cocktail hour and rooftop after party at the Quirk Hotel.
The event is renting out the entire hotel for the weekend, and packages are available that include dinner and a hotel room for $1,200 per couple.
Last year's event, also at Quirk, sold out.
Robinson was a standout quarterback at Varina High, then at Penn State before transitioning to the NFL. He was recently named to the VHSL Hall of Fame.
