The playoffs are on the horizon, and with just three weeks left in the season, the Seattle Seahawks are on the brink of reaching the postseason for its sixth straight season, despite end-of-season injuries from multiple stars, including Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor. It won’t be an easy task in a wild NFC Playoff race.

Seattle (8-5) is currently tied at with the Atlanta Falcons (8-5) for the final wild card spot in the NFC.  The owner of the NFC’s fifth seed is Carolina (9-4), who is also tied for the led in the NFC South with the New Orleans Saints (9-4). Plus, the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions are all sitting with a 7-6 record and are vying for a wild card berth as well.

The leader of the NFC West, the Los Angeles Rams, hold a 9-4 record and are just one game ahead of the Seahawks. The two squads face off this upcoming Sunday in a matchup that could very well determine the winner of the division and guarantee a playoff spot. The Seahawks beat the Rams 16-10 earlier this season and would hold a tiebreaker with a win on Sunday. Los Angeles finishes up the season with a road game against the Tennessee Titans, then they host the San Francisco 49ers, who are heating up since Jimmy Garoppolo took over as quarterback.

Not only is the division on the line, but both the Rams and Seahawks still have a shot at earning a playoff bye over the 10-3 Minnesota Vikings, who close out the season with Cincinnati, Green Bay and Chicago.

After Sunday’s game against Los Angeles, the Seahawks head to Dallas in an equally important matchup against the Cowboys. Seattle finishes the season at home against the Arizona Cardinals, who fell to the Seahawks 22-16 in their first meeting.
